30 things that I love about myself
As an act of self love this month when I turned 30 I put myself the task to write down 30 things I love about myself. So here we go. It was not easy, but it was not that hard either. There is so much to love about myself, much more than I thought.
My first ever skydive on my 30th birthday along the coast of Santa Cruz. Nothing like being terrified and jumping anyway #courage.
I love that I am such a passionate person. I give my whole being to my passions.
I love that I try to be intentional and purposeful all the time even though it is exhausting sometimes.
I love that I am silly. I make noises, jokes that are downright weird and I love it.
I love that I love books and reading.
I love that I love to learn and how my curiosity drives me to new and different experiences
I love that I love adventure, exploring, going on expeditions outside and inside.
I love that I don’t expect myself to be all done up all the time. I leave it for whenever I really feel like it. All my makeup fits into a tiny drawer in a dresser and gets use a few times a year.
I love that I love nature, trees plants flowers — their energy and presence nurtures me.
I love that I love animals and squeal when I see them. Even a squirrel on a tree gets me excited.
I love that I don’t get sarcasm as much. I love that I pronounce things wrong and don’t get embarrassed about it either. I am a simpleton in that way.
I love that I love puns. Even really bad ones.
I love that I devote and invest in the relationships that matter to me, by prioritizing them and being there for them without expecting (as much as I can) in return.
I love that I like to read the National Geographic Magazine front to back cover.
I love that I enjoy cooking for others.
I love that I am a primordial feminist, having lifted the blinds of patriarchal culture and mainstream feminism — a by-product of being raised a woman in India and finding my freedom in the United States.
I love that I hate small talk.
I love that I am an ambivert, I can spend hours, days with just me and my thoughts for company. I can also be the life of a gathering easily.
I love that I try, fail but keep trying to live in alignment with my values of a sustainable and carbon-neutral lifestyle.
I love my sense of style and fashion.
I love my eyes.
I love when I laugh/guffaw at my own thoughts alone in my room.
I love that I can on most days coach myself out of panic, stress and anxiety, self-doubt.
I love that I value experiences and relationships more than things. Even though I tend to hoard things hoping to make use of them someday.
I love that I make space for my emotions and value the process of parsing them out as a way to be my best self.
I love that I sing very loudly when I’m in a deep workflow even if I don’t know the words to the song.
I love that I cry when I see a stranger in pain or suffering within or physically — this can happen while watching movies, shows, walking on the streets, etc.
I love that I am comfortable, no actually cozy in silence.
I love the way I dance, the inhibited way my body moves to music instinctively.
I love all my imperfections and brokenness. I love all my bruises and pains.
I love that at the deepest core of my being (even if I don’t feel it every day) I know I am a goddess.
