My Mother’s Joy

By the chance
of time and space
you were born
in a place
which could
not bare your
brilliance,
and now
as you find
joy in me
coming alive,
I finally
see how my eyes
also saw you
with the
limitations
you were born in
and not with.

So I learn to see
otherwise mom,
I see your joy
in mine,
becoming
the joy
that was stolen
from you
and is therefore
rightfully yours
and now this
fertile joy starts
to multiply
so, I harvest
your joy,
to fuel and
yield my, nay our
brilliance
as look so many
many ancestral
woman are lining
up at my door, that I
may fuel and feed
their stolen and
rightful joy.
