Venerating

the ladder to my nook for sleep
the birds that sing me awake from rest
the little teapot that starts my mornings
spices that make my meal appetizing
the spoon that brings nutrition to my lip
the green pan, the compost bin
the perfectly warm water falling on me
the bar of soap that is just enough foamy
the towel that dries my shivering body
the dress that flows with glory
the slippers that fit perfectly
the jacket that warms the cold air
sunglasses that make everything fair
the yoga mat with good grip
the cozy couch that hugs me
the snuggly blanket that kisses me
the books that spark my intellectual lust
earphones that reach songs to my core
the door that shuts the world out
the windows that bring the light in
to all my things-teachers
I bow in love as I learn
so much on how to serve.
